We are reporting the immediate release of our new Praxis 8.2 version, with the new ePrescribing module, REQUIRED by January 1 2022, and before the release of our important C# version to be released in a few more weeks.
Although for clinics on the latest version on our cloud the upgrade is quite straightforward, for those using previous versions of Praxis or housed in personal servers, this upgrade may present additional logistical problems. Previous migrations may be required in some of these cases. As usual, migrations demand additional time and care, so please contact us as soon as possible to schedule, so as to be ready for
January 1.
This version also fixes more than 250 errors encountered this year, and presents a few other improvements. This short Mini-Manual explains the upgrade:
Please keep in mind that a short but crucial step needs to be performed by your clinic prior to using the new eprescribing module with pediatric patients (patients under age of 18). The new regulations demand that e-prescriptions for pediatric patients include the weight and height, and Praxis automated this step as much as possible.
Once again, please be aware that if you wish to eprescribe after January 1, you need to be upgraded. The new eprescribing regulations are NOT our doing. If your practice is located outside of the United States, upgrading is not an issue. You may safely remain on your current version until the release of our C# upgrade.
